Can I save money by converting a punch press part into a multi-slide part?
YES – Typically 15-20% savings, due to the elimination of the carrier strip. Tooling is typically less expensive for a multi-slide press compared to a punch press. However, not all punch press parts can be made on a multi-slide press. Multi-slide parts generally need to be 0.050” thick and smaller than 3” in width.

What is the most common type of alloy that is extruded?
6063 alloy was designed for the extrusion industry. It has great mechanical properties, welds easily, bends well and is outstanding for anodizing. Today over 90% of extrusions produced are made from 6063 alloy.

Our manufacturers generally shoot for a 5 business day quote turnaround. However, in certain cases we have turned quotes in less than 24 hours.

Purchase Orders are submitted directly to our manufacturers.
